Berichte aus dem Natural History Museum London 2

Today we visited the Natural History Museum in London. The museum is located in the district South Kensington. As soon as we were there we split up in groups and we could explore the exhibits, which we were interested in. One division that I visited was the zoology spirit building. There you can find preserved animals such as octopuses, bats and mussels. Another exhibit that I visited was Guy the Gorilla. Guy the gorilla is a famous western lowland gorilla. He was born in Paris and soon moved to London and became one of London Zoo's best loved residents. He was known to carefully scoop up small birds that flew into his enclosure, peer at them, then let them go.

Guy the gorilla died in 1978 in course of a heart failure during a dental operation. Now you can visit the gorilla in the Natural History museum in London. After that we found interesting exhibits of rhinos. On the picture on top you can see a black rhino. They have two horns and live in the south of Africa. While black rhinos were hunted to the brink of extinction by the late 1990s, today black rhino populations are bouncing back. Through population monitoring and law enforcement the population grows back to it's original population size.

All in all the museum is huge and you must have seen it when you visit London.
